a big fall.

Early Tuesday morning, I got a call from my brother-in-law telling me that Todd had passed out in a meeting at work. He patched me in with the conference room where Todd was. Todd's co-workers began to tell me everything that happened. He had an irregular heartbeat which made him pass out, fall flat on his face, and cut his eyebrow open. They told me to drive to Northwestern hospital to meet him in the emergency room.

Naturally, I was bawling, freaking out, and calling my parents. My mom calmed me down, told me to throw on some clothes and take a cab to the hospital. I decided to drive there, which ended up taking twice as long - so much city traffic. I ran to the emergency room and found him hooked up to a heart monitor with the biggest goose egg bruise/bump on his eye. Poor guy had to get six stitches on his eyebrow.

Todd was in the emergency room for about six hours until they moved him to a cardiovascular observatory room. A bunch of tests were taken to see if it was a heart attack, something to do with his thyroid, or anything else. Luckily, all of the tests came back negative. He had to stay overnight so that the doctors could keep an eye on his heart and continue to take his vitals.

He was discharged the next afternoon. I was so glad to get him home. His eye and right side of his face are still pretty banged up. Looks like he got in a pretty big fight;) The doctors gave him medication to take everyday for a few months to make sure his heart beats are regulated.

So glad it wasn't anything more serious. Thank you to everyone who came to see him, called, texted, and sent their love. And thank you for all your prayers. It really helped us.
