speckled hen inn.

Todd and I decided to celebrate our anniversary a couple weekends early at a bed and breakfast out in Madison, WI! It was our first b&b experience and we both agreed that we set the bar pretty high for our next b&b. The Speckled Hen Inn is just 15 minutes outside of downtown Madison. It sits on 50 beautiful acres! They have chickens, llamas, sheep, and one adorable goldendoodle named Happy. As soon as we got there we explored the grounds and decided that Wisconsin is one gorgeous state! The Midwest just keeps on surprising me! Our room was perfect and the owners had freshly baked cookies and a fridge stocked with drinks (free diet cokes!) for the guests to enjoy.

We went to dinner in downtown Madison that night at a delicious restaurant called Fresco, which I highly recommend. The next morning we ate breakfast with another couple that was staying at the b&b (we might have been the only ones under 60 staying there...haha) and played with Happy outside. Now I really want a goldendoodle!! Pleeeease Todd???

We continued our morning at the Dane County Farmers market downtown. It had rave reviews so we knew we had to check it out. Despite it being 59 degrees that morning (brrrr!!)...it was so fun to walk with the crowds and see all the fresh produce and yummy foods! We bought corn on the cob, black raspberry rubarb jam, pumpkin bread, and I had to get a sprinkled donut from a bakery stand (yum!!).

We love you Madison! We will be back!
